January Update

Now as you know Someflower were very busy last year and I did not manage to keep on top of my Blog during 2013.  This year is looking to be just as exciting and hectic as the calendar looks like it has measles with all the dots circled on it as to work days and confirmed wedding bookings.  So I have decided to TRY and do a monthly update on the Blog rather than a unrealistic weekly posting or worse still nothing at all.
So Today is my first Update post for January .
I really hope to keep this up.....So Wish me luck in advance  xx

At the end of January we were exhibiting at Tithe Barn in Ditcham just outside Petersfield.
We are so privileged to have such a stunning venue on our doorstep and never tire of its beauty.  Having the opportunity to work there (lots) throughout the years we never take for granted and love the interesting ways in which our Couples choose to decorate it and express who they are on their Special Day

Cylinder Vase Display
We are always adapting designs to fit within all budgets, and this cylinder vase table centre piece was a lovely idea to give height and impact to a table in an inexpensive way. Displayed on a large mirror plate scattered with fresh flower petals or table diamonds would look stunning...plus the floral display on the top can be removed at the end of the evening and given to guests/friends/family as a gift.

This years colour theme Faye and I chose Raspberry Pink with Pistachio pale greens and white.  Vintage and English Country Garden is still very popular for 2014 but we are finding that couples are also being lovely and brave with colour themes and choices....and adding a little POP to their party.  I cannot wait to show you some pictures of a wedding we are working on in March with lots of Jewel colours .....it will look stunning against the stone walls of Tithe Barn

The lovely Mr and Mrs Riggs were our neighbours at the event, and for anyone who knows them Tea is a very important part of their lives.  They are more of a china cup couple than Foam cup....but Tea is Tea!!!!

Faces to the Names.  This is Faye and I.  (Faye is the pretty blonde one!!!)

Candelabra displays have always been very popular at weddings.  There is just something about candlelight that is just tranquil and romantic. We do lots of different things with these candelabras such as trailing ivy, a floral ring of flowers....this is a photograph of a sumptuous ball of flowers nestled into the arms of the candelabra.  Very beautiful and traditional.

As well as the lovely wedding fairs we have been delighted to meet lots of new faces.  It has been a very busy January with consultations and confirmed bookings.  We both are looking forward to working along side such lovely couples this year.

Stunning Wedding at Tithe Barn at Ditcham

Someflowers second wedding this week was a lovely array of flowers with an interesting use of colour for the venue flowers.  The Bridal and Breiddesmaids flowers were a pretty collaboration of Hot Pink, Pale Oyster pink and Ivory and for the venue flowers at Tithe Barn, Ditcham we introduced Lemon and Yellow to the Hot Pink.
Take a look at a few photo's taken of the day.

Someflower 2012...1st Wedding of the Season

It is lovely and very exciting to start the official 1st Day of Summer with a Wedding.
This Weekend we were at a lovely local venue to us here at Someflower-Old Thorns in Liphook for Jane and Chris's Wedding.

It was a pretty traditional style wedding.  It was great for us to start with a good traditional style shower/teardrop bridal bouquet with lots of roses and diamante crystal embellishments.

All of the bridal flowers including the bridesmaids flowers showcased some fantastic roses which are very popular choices.  Passion, Avalanche, Sweet Avalanche and Belle nesseled together inbetween soft dark green ruscus and an extra added delight was some highly fragrant Daphne that I picked from my cottage garden.

Avalanche makes a fantastic buttonhole

Crystal Hurricane Lamps adorned the tables in the Hampshire Suite.

...and a lovely traditional long low arrangement was used to not only decorate the Registrars table but to also feature as the centre table display on the top table.

You can see more photographs of this wedding .....and many more lovely Someflower Albums to look through on our Facebook Page.

Tithe Barn Weding Fair 2012

Someflower was thrilled to be invited again to the Tithe Barn , Ditcham, Patersfield again this year.
It is just the "Best" venue and we love decorating it and being so local to such a wonderful wedding venue.
We always feel very privelledged to be invited by Sam and the Team at the ban and we adore having our stand up on the Balcony as it is so breathtaking...oh and we love to be nosey and look down on everyone milling around!!!!
The event always has a relaxed and friendly atmosphere, which is all down to the staff and their well organized efforts and experience.
It is great to see our friends and other suppliers who we have worked with in the pasts....but best of all it is great to meet all the new Brides and Grooms and their families.
So THANK YOU to all of you that came up onto the balcony to say hello to us at Someflower.  We hope our displays inspired you and we hope that we may have the opportunity to play a small part in your wedding in the future.

Here are just a few photo's taken from the day.
George our beautiful wishing tree was a real show stopper and was very popular.  I think he will be hired out a lot this year.

Lovely Lush Candelabras were also really popular at this event.

Winter Wonderland Wedding March 2011

Spring has sprung and so has Someflower into action for 2011 weddings.

We started off this year at one of the best venues (in our opinion) in the South, the Tithe Barn at Ditcham, Near Petersfield. How lucky are we to have this gorgeous venue on our doorstep?
The decoration for this wedding was really unique. The couple getting married had a passion for skiing and wanted the venue to look wintery....but NOT Christmassy!!!
The Tithe Barn is a beautiful symmetrical venue with lots of high ledges which are perfect for decorating. So we made the ceremony end really pretty by alternating and using rustic wicker hanging hearts, Trailing ivy and lovely church pillar candles.
A lovely sentimental touch to this wedding and also the decoration was on the Registrar's table where we made a stunning table display featuring 6 white candles and white roses. This arrangement and each candle represented a member of the family who were unable to attend the wedding but were in mind and spirit. Anna the Bride gave us the candles to use and they were from Lakeland and as they burned they made a wintery icicle pattern....they were so beautiful.
Weddings are always so expensive and none of us nowadays have an open chequebook unfortunately. No wedding is too big or too small...it is still your special day and here at Someflower we are passionate about providing beautiful flowers and displays within your allocated budget. We are always looking for interesting and innovative ways to be cost effective with flowers for our clients and this wedding was no exception.
It is always lovely to decorate the aisle at you venue. It is the first thing your guests see and you want to create that wow factor and a bit of wedding atmosphere. For this wedding we made lovely silver pots of gypsophilia and foliage studded with LED lights at the base and then delicate white sparkly twigs with silver skeleton leaves interspersed between the branches.
The aisle looked magical and then after the ceremony the aisle decorations were used as the table centre displays....VERY ECONOMICAL!!!
More pictures of this wedding venue decoration can be seen on my Someflower Facebook pages. I hope to have some photographs of the whole day to show you very soon once the official photo's are available.
Please feel free to become a follower of blog and a friend on Facebook to keep up to date with all we are doing here at Someflower. Also take a look at our stunning new website designed by Limeweb Studio
It looks like a very busy, interesting, fun and exciting year!!!

2011 Weddings Begin For Someflower

Wow....what a hectic couple of months January and February have been for Someflower.
Usually the first couple of months of a new year are quiet and it is a great time to get on top of all the sorting and preparations ready for the wedding season to begin. However we have been really busy over the last few weeks meeting up with lots of new brides and grooms and their
families to discuss floral requirements and wedding ideas.
We offer a free No-Obligation consultation and we have been busy meeting people most weekends (Saturday & Sunday) since January and the diary is completely full until 19th March...how brilliant is that?
Next weekend is the start of our working year. Our 1st wedding of 2011 is at the Tithe Barn in Ditcham where the bride and groom are having a civil ceremony and reception. They are both interested and have a passion for skiing and we are making some unusual and unique displays with white wood and lots of LED lighting to personalize their special day and bring out the snow aspect for them. I hope to post some pictures very soon after the event.
As any one who meets Someflower will know we are very passionate about being budget conscious and work within a budget that our clients are happy with. For this wedding the clients were wanting the aisle decorated but did not want the usual topiary set up that always looks fabulous at the barn. So we have decided to be a little clever and create some lovely displays that are going to be used to decorate the aisle and then are also suitable to be used as table centres after the ceremony. I am sure it will look amazing and nice to have something different to showcase at the barn.
Purple and purple roses seem to be again a very popular choice for a lot of you 2011/2012 brides. We have had a couple of enquiries about black and white colour themes and also believe it or not two enquiries about using LIVE FISH in the table displays!!!
I have a feeling that Someflower will be having a really interesting year again....and we say "We can't wait"!!!
If you would like to arrange to meet up to discuss your floral requirements with Someflower, please feel free to contact us anytime. It would be lovely to see you.

Tithe Barn Wedding Fair 2011

We had an really amazing day on 29th January @ Tithe Barn in Ditcham at the wedding event they hosted.
The atmosphere was great and there were lots of interesting exhibits to visits and get inspiration and lots of wedding related advice from.
Faye and I were busy from the moment the doors opened at 9am meeting some fantastic couples and their families. We took different floral displays with us for everyone to see, hold, feel and smell.
Lots of money saving ideas were talked about as well as this years trends and colour themes.
It really was a lovely day and I would like to thank Sam and Gaynor and the girls for inviting us again. They did an amazing job and the atmosphere was buzzing. A huge success.
Also to you all for coming and stopping by to take a look at our stand.
