Simply Stunning

This weekend was Charlotte and Ian's Special Day with a Civil Ceremony at Tithe Barn in Ditcham, Near Petersfield, Hampshire.  One of the loveliest venues in the South East and one that Someflower is very fortunate to be located so close to which means we have the privileged to work there on a very regular basis.
I wanted to share this image with you for my March entry to the Someflower Blog as it was just a pleasure to make and the flower choices were just so smooth and rich they took your breath away.  Charlotte showed me a picture at consultation of a hand tied bouquet which was made using artificial flowers....but she wanted fresh flowers for her bouquet. She was happy to trust our judgement and select suitable flowers for her, but wanted it to include Ranunculus if possible.
This is what we chose for her and her Bridesmaid.  This stunning bouquet includes Aazur Black Ranunculus, Black Baccara Roses, Cymbidium SanBar Jorge, Green Hypericum and Green Bell.
Bouquet with Impact
I cannot wait to see the official photographs taken on the day by Jim and Nicky Pascoe @ www.jimpascoe.co.uk as I am sure my little snap shots really captured how striking these flowers were.

Much To Do In March !!!!

Faye and I are now in full swing with all things weddings and wedding flowers.  We are both very excited about being lovely and busy again for another year, and with confirmed bookings even for next year also ....2015 looks to be a beautiful flowery year for us too.
We have some amazing couples on our books for 2014 with some unique ideas and some clever ways to make their wedding day personal and one to remember.  It never ceases to amaze me how creative Brides, Grooms and their families are when it comes to a wedding.  Weddings are just a great way to pull things together from both sides and a wonderful way to start married life together.
I was asked at the weekend what colours are trending at the moment or are popular for 2014/15 weddings.  I think with the Vintage Theme still being very popular the muted colour palette is still very evident in flower choices....however many couples are also being brave with colour and adding a "POP" of colour to their floral decorations especially within the wedding breakfast and venue decoration.

Fantastic Flower February

February is a time for Someflower to get ready for the Wedding Season.  It is also a time to think of new ideas to offer our clients and to re vamp some good favourite classics to keep them modern and on trend for our couples.

Close Up Colour Cobinations 2014

I have a lovely new little point and shoot compact camera that I am having a great deal of fun with.  It even takes video and so I am hoping to take some working shots to post on Facebook and the Blog this year.
Here are some lovely close up pictures of some beautiful colour combinations from our work recently.

January Update

Now as you know Someflower were very busy last year and I did not manage to keep on top of my Blog during 2013.  This year is looking to be just as exciting and hectic as the calendar looks like it has measles with all the dots circled on it as to work days and confirmed wedding bookings.  So I have decided to TRY and do a monthly update on the Blog rather than a unrealistic weekly posting or worse still nothing at all.
So Today is my first Update post for January .
I really hope to keep this up.....So Wish me luck in advance  xx

At the end of January we were exhibiting at Tithe Barn in Ditcham just outside Petersfield.
We are so privileged to have such a stunning venue on our doorstep and never tire of its beauty.  Having the opportunity to work there (lots) throughout the years we never take for granted and love the interesting ways in which our Couples choose to decorate it and express who they are on their Special Day

An Arty Shot of the Bridal Bouquet we took to the Tithe.

Cylinder Vase Display
We are always adapting designs to fit within all budgets, and this cylinder vase table centre piece was a lovely idea to give height and impact to a table in an inexpensive way. Displayed on a large mirror plate scattered with fresh flower petals or table diamonds would look stunning...plus the floral display on the top can be removed at the end of the evening and given to guests/friends/family as a gift.

This years colour theme Faye and I chose Raspberry Pink with Pistachio pale greens and white.  Vintage and English Country Garden is still very popular for 2014 but we are finding that couples are also being lovely and brave with colour themes and choices....and adding a little POP to their party.  I cannot wait to show you some pictures of a wedding we are working on in March with lots of Jewel colours .....it will look stunning against the stone walls of Tithe Barn

The lovely Mr and Mrs Riggs were our neighbours at the event, and for anyone who knows them Tea is a very important part of their lives.  They are more of a china cup couple than Foam cup....but Tea is Tea!!!!

Faces to the Names.  This is Faye and I.  (Faye is the pretty blonde one!!!)

Candelabra displays have always been very popular at weddings.  There is just something about candlelight that is just tranquil and romantic. We do lots of different things with these candelabras such as trailing ivy, a floral ring of flowers....this is a photograph of a sumptuous ball of flowers nestled into the arms of the candelabra.  Very beautiful and traditional.

As well as the lovely wedding fairs we have been delighted to meet lots of new faces.  It has been a very busy January with consultations and confirmed bookings.  We both are looking forward to working along side such lovely couples this year.

Our Favourite Venue's Open Day-This Month

Someflower has been invited again this year to exhibit at the Tithe Barn Open Day.  This is a fantastically organised event and has the best suppliers there for you to meet.  For those of you who have not visited the barn before-Please make a date in your diary as for me to describe it will not do this beautiful building and its landscape any justice.  Just come on the day and see for yourself.  Sam and her team will be there to greet you and not only will our beautiful flowers be there but also some amazing food tasters including the Fish and Chip Man (who is the best) and of course cakes, photography, Dresses, Topiary Trees, Stationery....and did I mention Fish and Chips??!-LOL
We look forward to seeing and meeting you  xx
