Pretty in Peach

PEACHES AND CREAMS ...A colour theme that used to be very popular in the late 80's - early 90's seems to be making a come back in the floral world and popular in the wedding scene. This lovely rose hand tied was made for a small civil ceremony and features peaches and creams.
This is the second wedding so far this year that has featured peach as the main focal colour. Take a look at Trudi and Paul's wedding earlier in July posts for a few more peach example photographs or on Someflower Face Book pages to view all the photographs from that wedding.
Not the easiest of colours to use...but if the balance is correct can look amazing and very very pretty. Maybe peach is the "New Pink" What do you think??

Making An Entrance At St Luke's Church, Milland, West Sussex

St Luke's Church in Milland, West Sussex is one of my favourite churches in our surrounding area. Church weddings are definitely becoming popular again for couples.
Here is a couple of photographs of the entrance decorated at St Luke's that we did a little while ago.

Tammy and Bruce Spring 2010

Received some gorgeous photographs from Tammy and Bruce who were married at St Mary's Church in Buriton followed by the reception at The Manor Barn this Spring.
It seemed such a long time ago now...so seeing the pictures capture that perfect day was a delight.

They are both very much outdoor people, and this image says it all !!!!

Dearest Michele.
We simply cannot thank you enough for the beautiful flowers you produced for our wedding. Everyone commented on how stunning they were both in the church and the barn, and my bouquet was just perfect!
Thanks also for being so helpful and friendly-You're a Star!
Lots of Love

Red Roses & White Oriental Lilies @ The Tithe Barn

On Friday last week we were decorating The Tithe Barn at Ditcham with lots of scented "Rialto" white lilies and "Grand Prix" red roses for Matt and Nicola.

We used these elegant 70cm clear glass tall lily vases for the quest table arrangements. Mirror plates, tealights, red and clear table diamonds completed the decorating and Fizzypop (email:jacqui_fisher@hotmail.co.uk) provided gorgeous red organza table runners, chair covers and red organza sashes (which I must say were tied to perfection...the best I have seen) to give the overall look that "Wow" factor.

As you can see from this image we used all white lilies as our focal flower, with some added interest with the pearl beaded grasses and two complimentary flowers, white lisianthus and white larkspur. To give a hit of colour to the displays we decorated the vases by using red organza and pearl beaded wire around the neck of the vase ...it was really effective.

The Tithe Barn is such a blank canvas. No two weddings we have ever undertaken have been the same here, and this one was no different. The tall vases filled the space perfectly and there was a good balance in the Red and White colour theme.

The Topiary Company supplied impressive large trees that were situated behind the oval top table. I adore these big illuminated trees, and the soft white crystal lights in the archways complete the look everytime. These are also supplied by Nigel @ The Topiary Company.

I particularly liked the finished look of this top table arrangement. We made this on site in situe just so we could get the proprtion and balance right for such a long shaped table. Terry Emment @ CJ Williams was the photographer today, and I am keeping my flower fingers crossed and hoping that we will be kindly sent some images from the day as he was taking some lovely shots. He also had some very exciting ideas to create a dynamic backdrop to the photographs...so as soon as I receive some examples of his work I will be posting them.

Richard and Laura's Wedding @ Pembroke Lodge, Richmond Park, Surrey.

What an amazing weekend we had this weekend. Yesterday we had a beautiful day at Pembroke Lodge in Richmond Park.
This venue is just the most romantic setting for a civil ceremony. Guests greeted one another on the terrace overlooking the breathtaking views of the park before taking a seat inside the Belvedere for the marriage of Richard and Laura.
Such a romantic setting required a romantic English Country Garden feel to all the Floral Decorations. We made this large floral heart to hang as a symbol of their marriage. Pink Sarah Bernhard Peonies, Pacific Blue and White Avalanche Roses and Lisianthus were the focal flowers of this display, finished with freshly picked garden herbs and foliage and we also included cottage blackberries. It looked lovely as a focal point.
Chunky low level table displays in glass square tank vases adorned the tables. We just loved making these and got totally carried away with the flower choices. We used two different varieties of dusky pink hydrangea, scented Rialto lilies, pink Anna veronica, larkspur, Million Star gypsophilia, Mariachi lilac lisianthus and Sweet Avalanche pale pale pink roses were are main choice flowers. What made these displays a true pleasure to make was the fact we decided to make them freestyle...which means we just picked the flowers for each display and made each one slightly different and arranged them very informally and naturally.
A ederly lady watching us unload commented about these table arrangements. She wanted to know if we had picked the flowers from the grounds?
"Unfortunatly No" I replied "Why do you ask?" She said "Because they
remind me of the flowers I used to pick from my garden when I was a very little
girl, a real selection of proper garden flowers, how nice to see them
together".
What a true compliment. I was thrilled.

Low voluptious table centers look superb in a smaller venue. Also do not be afraid of using colour to enhance your tables. Our colour brief for this wedding was Pale Pinks, Dusky Purples and Lilacs. As soon as I get some of the official photographs of the bridal flowers I will post the images as you can see how we kept to the brief for them....however we were trusted by the Bride and Groom to select flowers for the tables. Using a stronger colour palette againt the white linen gives a lot of imapct and depth. Keep an eye on our blog for further images of this wedding. I am hoping there will be some cracking images to share with you.
Congratulations Richard and Laura.
Love to You Both - Always xx
